Alerts
From Clarizen
The Alerts module enables you to navigate and update the list of all alerts triggered from events that occurred on project work items of which you are assigned to as either a Project Manager, Resource or Manager.
Alerts are generated by the system. They are created per work item in the system and are notified to the appropriate team members.
Alerts are shown within the project and are also sent to team members by email notifications.
Note: Alerts are not generated when a project work item is in draft mode. Only activated work items are able to trigger the creation of alerts.

Managing Alerts
Alerts are used to notify users of an event that occurred within the project.
The Alerts panel displays the list of all alerts triggered on a project.
High Importance
High Importance alerts are marked with the
icon and indicate:
- A Scheduling Conflict (including detail of when an item is on the project’s critical path)
- An Impacted Scheduling Conflict (represented by an orange alarm clock icon in grid interfaces)
- A work item is overdue (“past its due date”)
- A work item is over budget (“budgeted cost is lower than the actual cost”)
- Some of the work item’s resource pool is not working during the entire period of the work item
- A Project Manager assigned to a project has been deleted
Low Importance
Low Importance alerts are marked with the
icon and indicate when a work item has no resources assigned to it. This is considered of lower importance as the Manager of the item will be assigned responsibility by default.
Alerts marked with the
icon represent items that have been resolved.
What is a Conflict?
Conflicts represents a contradiction indication between due dates of at least two project work items. A contradiction can occur when due date of a certain wok item "X" is manually set (and thus represents a constraint) while another work item "Y" that is linked to "X" (and is affecting "X" due date) has a due date which is later than "X"’s.
In such a case, the system does not move due date of "X" accordingly, but rather raises an indication for a conflict.
Affected Work Items
There are two types of indicators that the system supplies:
- Impacting – indicated by the red symbol. Image is indicated on the work item which caused the conflict. In our sample above, it would be indicated on "Y".
- Impacted – indicated by the orange symbol. Image is indicated on the work item which is affected. In our sample above, it would be indicated on "X".
What Can I Do Here?
Within the Alerts screen you can filter through the time frame of alerts that you would like to see, for example, alerts in the "Last Two Weeks", "Last Two Months", etc.
To go to the work item which the alert originated from, select the "Go To" option from the right click menu.
Alerts can be marked as resolved by selecting the "Mark as Resolved" option from the right click menu.
Alerts by Email
Users can receive alerts notifications via email.
To receive email notifications of alerts, be sure to select the appropriate setting from within the System Settings.
